Overview

The Marketing Manager at Grit works directly with clients to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive performance across multiple channels. They are energized by diversity of work and can excel in a variety of marketing disciplines and platforms. Working in coordination with Relationship Managers and Service Line Managers, the ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and brings a strong work ethic every day.

This individual is responsible for primary client communication, infuses energy into every interaction, and has the unique ability to confront and challenge while also being a gifted peacemaker. They should be able to direct strategy and execution across a variety of digital and creative projects in order to achieve a client’s business goals. He/she will be comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs. Responsibilities

  • Manage the translation of client business strategy into deliverables from the agency team that drive performance and generate revenue.
  • Create and manage reports, leveraging data across multiple platforms, to extract key insights for validating or adjusting strategies, complete with client facing presentations and recommendations on tactics.
  • Manage weekly and monthly reporting for the performance of all of your clients, and partner with the analytics team for ad hoc analysis work.
  • Partner with email, paid media, organic, and web teams to design, test and evolve marketing campaigns that drive lead generation and/or ecommerce sales.
  • Coordinate projects with Creative, Content, and SEO service line managers, pushing client strategy to the forefront of digital and creative best practices.
  • Work closely with the Relationship Manager for your pod of accounts to align on strategy and approach. Present deliverable to and manage edits from clients. Coordinate with teammates and contractors/vendors to complete final project deliverables.
  • Create and manage tasks in Asana, create Gantt charts and timelines for multi-month projects. Coordinate client communications.

We Are Looking For…

  • 5+ years experience in managing multiple marketing channels.
  • Robust knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding.
  • Strong strategic level understanding of SEO, Email, PPC, and Paid Social
  • Leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to review a data set and derive insights.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent storyteller, both in person and written.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets – including advanced formulas, multi-tab sheets, dashboards.
  • Experience working in Google Analytics.
  • Experience working in paid media platforms – Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Business Manager.
  • Understanding of website CMS platforms including WordPress, Shopify, and Squarespace.
  • Basic understanding of website design/development – to communicate with front-end and back-end web developers/designers.

Additional consideration given for the following:
  • Experience working in a creative discipline, especially design or copywriting
  • Experience working in email marketing platforms such as MailChimp, Klaviyo, etc.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Sugar, Zoho, or other CRMs
  • Prior experience with marketing automation or automation platforms like Zapier
