The Senior Editor works with clients and internal teams to develop and execute content strategies that align with the client’s brand and business objectives, highlighting unique stories and captivating the target audience. Working closely with the SEO team, the Senior Editor schedules content production, sets contents priorities, and balances workloads effectively across their team of freelance and in-house writers. The Senior Editor will be responsible for ensuring that all content meets the agency’s standards for quality, accuracy, and effectiveness. 

Beyond publishing content, the Senior Editor will have a continuous improvement mindset, seeking ways to advance the quality of content, audience engagement, and integrate new trends and tactics. In partnership with the SEO team, the Senior editor will monitor content performance against key traffic and engagement KPIs to achieve client goals.

  • Manage the content creation process from ideation to execution, working with writers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality content on time and within budget.
  • Integrate SEO best practices into content, in partnership with SEO associates
  • Spec, assign, edit, and publish content according to the specific editorial standards of our clients and brands.
  • Manage publication timelines and adjust priorities as needed, responsible for hitting monthly publication goals
  • Review and incorporate external reviewers’ comments and revisions
  • Recruit freelance contract writers as needed and manage communications with the freelance team
  • Develop editorial guidelines and brand voice guidelines
  • Project management of Asana content operations boards

We Are Looking For…

  • 2-3 years of editing experience (preferably for a print or digital publication or marketing agency)
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications
  • Working knowledge of online platforms like WordPress and SEO concepts
  • Abilities in planning and coordinating people and operations
  • Ability to adapt the tone and style to a particular audience’s sensitivity
  • Outstanding grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written language skills
  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.
  • Experience with Asana or other similar project management software
  • Excellent communication skills
